October is bubbling over with playful experiments and creative discoveries at Spooky Science, a month-long celebration of STEAM with a delightfully spooky twist.
Kids can mix, test, and tinker through hands-on art and science activities designed to spark curiosity and imagination. Throughout the month, families can enjoy live performances and interactive demonstrations from science-inspired entertainers, along with cozy, not-so-spooky storytimes led by Team GCM.

Not all things lurk in the shadows; sometimes they reveal themselves in the light!
This year’s Spooky Science craft in our MakeSpace exhibit is all about conjuring mysterious blueprints, called cyanotypes, with the magic of sunlight!
You’ll get to work together to arrange objects on light-sensitive paper, then let the sun create spooky blue-and-white silhouettes. Experiment with shadows, shapes, and light to reveal your own one-of-a-kind and not-so-spooky cyanotype!
Our MakeSpace crafts are carefully curated to enhance kids’ gross and fine motor skills while also helping them develop essential everyday skills such as decision-making, trial and error, experimentation, collaboration, curiosity, and more!
