What Kids Love
Kids climb, crawl, and scramble through a towering netted climber that stretches to the museum’s ceiling. Platforms shaped like water droplets and leaves carry kids higher and higher, until they can touch the rafters and enjoy a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the museum below. With multiple entrances and exits, kids can race friends across levels or journey solo through the structure.
What Kids Learn
This climber transforms children into water droplets traveling through the water cycle. As they climb, kids experience evaporation, condensation, and precipitation through movement and imagination. The exhibit builds physical strength, balance, risk assessment, and perseverance, while reinforcing science concepts through embodied play. Below them, KidsPort represents water returning to Earth, completing the cycle.
What to Expect
This two-story climber is physically challenging and best suited for confident climbers ages 3 and up. The netted structure is fully enclosed for safety, with multiple entry and exit points. Younger children may need hands-on support from a trusted adult. The climber is visually open and high off the ground, which can feel exhilarating for some children and intimidating for others. Kids are always welcome to watch from below or choose to only climb part of the way up.
