DIY Water Xylophone

Team GCM member, Mackenzie, shows us how to make an at-home xylophone with a few filled water glasses!

Materials:

3-8 Water Glasses
Measuring cups- 1 cup, ½ cup, ¼ cup
Pencils
Water

Recommended Water Measurements (for 6 glasses):

1 ¾ cups, 1 ½ cups, 1 ¼ cups, 1 cup, ¾ cup, ½ cup

Helpful Hints:

  • Glass cups work better than plastic cups!
  • Use the eraser end of the pencil to tap the glass!
  • Tap the tops of the glasses for the best sound!
  • Don’t worry if you spill! Making a mess is part of the fun!
