Honey Bunnies Recipe & Activity Sheet

Team GCM member, Kate, shares one of her favorite family recipes for a simple and delicious treat: Honey Bunnies! This no-bake recipe has only 4 ingredients. Then when you’re finished, snack on your honey bunnies and fold an origami bunny with our Activity Sheet!

Ingredients:

1 cup honey
1 cup peanut butter
2 cups instant milk (powder)
1 cup cereal (Corn Flakes are our favorite, but Cheerios also work great)

Instructions:

  1. Put cereal in a zip lock bag and be sure to seal it. Now have some fun smashing or rolling it until the cereal is in crumbles. We used a rolling pin. Pour the cereal crumbles into a bowl and set them to the side. We’ll need them later.
  2. Mix the honey, peanut butter, and instant milk into a mixing bowl. Since I have two kids, I doubled the recipe and gave them each their own bowl and mixing spoon. Stir this mixture until it becomes a soft dough. You should be able to roll it into a ball in your hand without it sticking too much to your hand. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more instant milk.
  3. Grab your bowl of cereal crumbles along with a pan, tray, or sheet of wax paper.
  4. Using your hands, roll your dough into small balls. We make ours approximately 2 inches in diameter, but you can make your Honey Bunnies whatever size you prefer!
  5. As you go, drop each ball in the cereal crumbles and roll it around. Make sure the ball is fully covered in cereal crumbles. Place the finished ones off to the side on your pan, tray, or wax paper.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes then enjoy! They are actually ready to eat right away, but trust me when I tell you that they are so much yummier served cold. While we wait, we like to lick our bowls and spoons!
