GCM has partnered with the Sew Much Hope Project women’s refugee cooperative to create custom GCM-branded personal protective masks. These masks can be purchased by visitors and GCM Members just like you. When you purchase a limited-edition mask you support both GCM and Sew Much Hope Project!
ABOUT SEW MUCH HOPE PROJECT
Sew Much Hope Project is a collaborative social enterprise based in St. Petersburg, Florida where female refugees learn how to sew and earn supplemental income to help their families. Their goal is to lessen the stress of resettlement through a supportive community environment. Sew Much Hope empowers women by building community, providing opportunities, and creating hope for refugees in the United States.
GCM + SEW MUCH HOPE PROJECT PARTNERSHIP
GCM believes that every child deserves a fun, safe, and inclusive space for imagination and discovery. Diversity, equity, social justice, inclusion, and access are GCM’s priorities, and we are committed to being a cultural institution known for representing strong values that honor the vastly multicultural community we serve.
WHAT MAKES A SEW MUCH HOPE PROJECT MASK SPECIAL
These masks are 100% durable and made with double-ply quilters cotton right here in Tampa Bay. Each and every mask was handmade with love and care by women artisans of the Sew Much Hope Project, so when you purchase one, you’re creating hope for refugees here in your community. You can read the stories of these women on the back of every card.
